Create print ready pdfs for submission to print

When submitting a file for print in the PDF format Phoenix Press requires that your files conform to either one of the following processes in which it is created:

If you are using Acrobat Distiller 5.0 or before to create your PDF:

You will first need to download the settings set Phoenix Press.job options (Click on the hyperlink and it will download the required file to your computer). Please make sure that you are not currently running the Distiller application.

Next you will need to move the “Phoenix Press.job options” file into the Distiller “settings” folder. (screenshot) This folder can be found within the Distiller folder that is inside the Acrobat application folder.

Launch Distiller and change your settings set to the PPI file. (screenshot) Please do not modify this settings set, doing this may cause problems in processing your files for print.

If you are using Acrobat Distiller 6.0 or newer:

We require that the PDF/X-1a standard be used when distilling pages for print. Launch Distiller and change your settings set to PDF/X-1a. (screenshot) This will insure that the make up of the PDF supplied to us will meet our standard requirements for PDF file submission.
